Harden scores career-best 61 as Rockets edge Knicks by 114-110

James Harden crossed the mark of Wilt Chamberlain on Wednesday night and did not stop until he managed to tie with Kobe Bryant.

On one other special night for the NBA’s special scorer, James Harden not only managed to score his career high of 61 points but also tied the record of Kobe Bryant for the most points scored from a visiting player at the Madison Square Garden.

Harden said, “In the Garden, I will take it.”

The Rockets surely needed this performance of Harden.

Houston Rockets under the massive 61 points of Harden were able to gain a lead and an eventual win over the New York Knicks on Wednesday night by 114-110.

With his final basket, Harden finished his fifth game of the season where he scored at least 50 points.  Rockets Coach Mike D’Antoni said, “The way we played in the last six minutes, maybe last 4 minutes, we sent the game of basketball back at least 10 years in the past. It was a mind-boggling thing we did tonight and we got the win as well.”

The record is currently held by Carmelo Anthony who scored 62 points at the Madison Square Garden.

As for Knicks, they were led by rookie player Allonzo Trier who scored his season high of 31 points. With this loss, the Knicks have now lost their seventh straight game.

Up next, Houston Rockets will host a game against the Toronto Raptors on Friday while New York Knicks will host a game against the Brooklyn Nets on Friday.
