Hayward’s game-winner shot lifts Celtics over Kings by 111-109

Instead of repenting on the mistake that made the game tied with Sacramento Kings, Gordon Hayward decided to make it moot in the closing seconds.

Hayward made up for his costly foul with 2 seconds to the play as he lifted the Boston Celtics, paying without injured Kyrie Irving, to win the game over the Sacramento Kings by 111-109 on Wednesday night.

Earlier, Hayward fouled on Buddy Hield’s 3-pointer shot with 7 seconds tot eh game that let Kings make the game tied. However, he eventually made up for his mistake by striking a fall-away win.

Hayward said, “I felt so good, more than anything else because I earlier had nearly cost us this game with my foul. I was only trying to get that back for the team. More than anything, I am just happy for my team as we have found a way to win the last two games. It has been a roller coaster lately and we want to be on up when we make it to the playoffs.”

From Boston’s side, Jayson Tatum scored 24 points to lead the team while Al-Horford scored 21 points along with 11 rebounds and 7 assists. As for Gordon Hayward, he finished the night with 12 pints which also includes his game-winner shot.

As for the Sacramento Kings, they were led by Barnes who scored 24 points while Hield added in his 23 points for the Kings. With this game lost, Kings have now lost 4 of their last 5 games. They are currently trailing San Antonio Spurs by 4 games for their shot at the playoff of Western Conference.

The point guard of Kings, De’Aaron Fox said, “It is always very tough to lose a close game like this. They made a lot of tough shots.”

Up next, Boston Celtics will play against the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday night while Sacramento Kings will be playing against the New York Knicks on Saturday night.
