Frank Kaminsky was told on Friday that the opportunity he had been waiting for would come finally for him.
James Borrego, coach of the Hornets did not put Kaminsky on the rotation for the sot of the season but he made the exception for one night.
Kaminsky said, “He told me just to compete and help us on the defense, offense, and rebound. He told me to do the things in know how to do. I only just tried to do that tonight.”
Kemba Walker scored 25 points for the Hornets while Jeremy Lamb scored 22 points as Hornets ended their 3-game losing skid with a 123-112 victory over the Brooklyn Nets. With this win, Charlotte Hornets have inched back ahead of Orlando Magic for the eighth place in the Eastern Conference.
Borrego said, “Frank gave us a completely different direction tonight in offense and I think I saw the effects of that in tonight’s game.”
Nicolas Batum from Hornets bench scored 17 points while Kaminsky came back on the court from bench to score 15 points, after sitting for four games. Seven of Hornets’ players scored in double figures.
As for Brooklyn Nets, they were led by D’Angelo Russell who scored 22 points for the sixth in the Eastern Conference. This was Nets second defeat at home in three nights as they have now lost four of their last 5 games. DeMarre Carol added in his 20 points for the Nets.
Up next, Charlotte Hornets will host a game against the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday while Brooklyn Nets will host a game against the Miami Heat on Saturday night.
