As Giannis Antetokounmpo was making his charge, Al Horford stood his ground firm against him.
Antetokounmpo, the MVP of the All-Star game desperately was trying to produce a spark for his team in this game during the second half to cut the lead of Celtics, Horford in the Game 1 of the second round series of the playoffs played on Sunday night. He managed to drive the ball hard on the court and tried to play the ball over Horford but he met him at the rim and blocked his shot.
Antetokounmpo again rallied with the ball and made a second try but was met against Horford once more who this time, spiked the ball off the court.
Celtics clamped down hard on Antetokounmpo during this game and manage dot defeat the Milwaukee Bucks by 112-90.
Horford said, “Our focus tonight was to make sure to just make it tough on him tonight. We were making sure to make him earn everything he got tonight. I feel like we did a pretty good job of doing it tonight.”
Kyrie Irving led the Boston Celtics with his 26 points along with 11 rebounds which makes it a tie for his playoffs career high while Al Horford scored 20 points along with 11 rebounds.
Other players off of Celtics bench such as Jaylen Brown scored 19 points while Gordon Hayward scored 13 points.
Antetokounmpo was held down by Celtics on Sunday night as he only scored 22 points. He was not able to make his first field goal until the first minute of the 2nd quarter.
Mike Budenholzer, the coach of Milwaukee Bucks is expecting his star player to bounce back from this defeat quick in game 2.
He said, “As great as he has been, he has not been perfect on every night. He is hard on him so there are probably going to be some nights where I am going to put my arms around him and say to him, ‘You are going to be great’.”
Game 2 will be played in Milwaukee on Tuesday night.
