James Harden scores stunning 59 points to lead Rockets 159-158 win against Wizards

In the Wednesday night game of basketball between the Houston Rockets and Washington Wizards, James harden was spectacular as he scored a shocking 59 points in a single game. He certainly needed every single one of those points on the night to ensure his team’s win.

Harden was able to succeed at 1 of his 2 free shots with only 2.4 seconds to the game to hand Rockets their 159-158 victory over the Wizards.

Mike D’Antoni, the coach of Rockets said, “I did not know that we would have to score 160 points to win the game but whatever it takes it took. A lot of great performances by their individuals. They played really unbelievably. They did not miss anything. We only gave them a little way and they made everything.”

Bradley Beal was the one to lead Wizards in this game as he scored 46 points as he made free throws with only 8.1 seconds to the game to let the game tied at 158.

Beal said of the loss, “I hate these moral victories. But it is always a good feeling knowing that when we lose. There is always one of two things that we can fix.”

38 of the total 59 points were scored by Harden during the 2nd half with 21 in the 3rd quarter and 17 during the final.

Harden said of his amazing score, “The only way where we want to reach is to go with our defense and it needs to be consistent but right now we lack that consistency. This is how we go through tough times like this. That is what the course of the year is. We just continue to build those habits and then continue to keep on building them.”

As for the newly acquired Russell Westbrook of Rockets, he only scored 3 points in the first 3 quarters but then scored 14 in the 4th. He did score 12 assists and 10 rebounds with his 17 points.
