Jill Ellis, the coach of UWMST steps down form his position after winning the 2nd World Cup title

Jill Ellis, the coach of the US soccer team, who ash led the team US for back to back world cup title wins for the first time in the team’s history, announced the news that she is stepping down from her post as the coach of the team.

US Soccer team said in their new release that the 52 years old will first coach the woman’s national soccer team through their 5-game victory tour and then she will step down from her post to be the US Soccer Ambassador in the month of October. She is going to depart from the team US as their second-winningest coach in US soccer history. She is also the only coach of the US soccer team to have won 2 women’s soccer World Cup titles.

In a conference call with the media, Ellis said, “the timing of all this is just not a good one for me on a  personal level but also for the sake of the program and In terms of preparing for the start of a  new world cup. It just felt good and it felt right.”

Ellis has spent nearly two decades with US soccer team fulfilling many positions such as the scout, youth coach, assistant coach, and development director and finally as the head coach of the football team in 2014.

With the lead of Ellis, the US Women’s Soccer team went on to win 8 tournaments which also includes them winning the 2015’s World Cup and now the one this year. Under her leadership, the US Women soccer team has never lost a World Cup and during her tenure, the team outscored their opponents by 40-6.
