Jokic, Millsap lead Nuggets to win over LA Clippers by 123-96

Paul Millsap was not planning to let Nikola Jokic’s foul trouble to hinder in the way of a win for Denver Nuggets.

With a vintage performance from Paul Millsap, Denver Nuggets were able to win over the LA Clipper by 123-96 on Sunday night’s game.

Jokic scored 22 points with 16 rebounds to lead the Nuggets while Millsap added in his 21 points and 16 boards as well. Millsap scored his most of the points within the last two minutes of the game’s second quarter when Jokic was seated on the bench for his fourth foul.

Millsap said that he knew that he now not only had to step up to score more points but also to lead the team.

Millsap said, “I feel great. Having that break was definitely beneficial for my body and mind.”

Nuggets coach Michael Malone said, “Paul seems to have found the fountain of youth or something. He is applying like the Young Paul Millsap. He is flying around. We are charting everything from him. He contested 18 shots tonight which resulted in amazing 21 points and 16 rebounds to impact the game positively for the team. His energy is infectious for all the other team players.”

Currently, Denver Nuggets are 44-18 on the season with three games ahead of the third place OKC Thunder who are going to play against Nuggets in Denver on Tuesday.

As for LA Clippers, they were led by Lou Williams who scored 24 points while Danilo Gallinari scored 19 points. Clippers, unfortunately, were only able to have 3 of their 24 contested 3-pointers. Clippers have sot the season series against the Denver Nuggets by 3-1.

Up next, Los Angeles Clippers will host a game against the Dallas Mavericks on Monday night while Denver Nuggets will host a game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night.
