The roadshow of Anthony Joshua; the undefeated British boxer is finally headed towards the United States. His trip is not to fight another heavyweight champion though.
The four-title champion; Joshua will make his US debut as he will fight against the Jarrell Miller in order to defend his WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO belts on June 1st at Madison Square Garden.
Joshua, who has fought and won all his 22 professional fights in Britain, said: “I plan to embrace the culture there and leave with an appetite for more.” Joshua has won 21 of his 22 fights with KOs.
His last five fights were the most seen fights with 400,000 spectators cramped in arenas to see him fight. His highest profile fight was against Wladimir Klitschko at the Wembley Stadium back on April 17th of 2017 with 90000 fans in attendance.
However, Joshua knows that he needs to fight in the US in order to raise his global profile.
Eddie Hearn, the promoter of Joshua said, “In UK, Joshua has already created an incredible ‘Lion’s Den’ atmosphere and now we plan to bring this energy to New York.”
Miller is also undefeated after winning 23 of his 24 professional fights. He is a born New Yorker, so fighting the Garden is natural for him.
Miller said, “AJ is making a big mistake, coming to my hometown to fight me. He wants to announce himself on the American stand but all he is doing is giving me his hard-earned belts by his own hands.”
The fight will b broadcasted by DAZN which will also be live in the UK.
Joshua lastly said, “I am looking forward to taking on another challenge with a good boxer and a brilliant talker. It is going to be an interesting fight, so I will not leave anything to chance. I am planning to dismantle Miller in my style to make myself clear to the world.”
