Joyce VS Stiverne; Joe Joyce stops Bermane Stiverne in sixth round at The O2

On Saturday night’s fight for the shot at the WBA ‘Regular’ Title between Joe Joyce and Bermane Stiverne, Joe Joyce started pounding his opponent to halt the fight in the sixth round at the O2.

Joyce; the Olympic Silver medalist maintained his destructive assault in the professional rankings as he floored Stiverne in the third round first only to force the former WBC champion to a halt in the sixth round.

The unbeaten record of Joyce in professional fights is now at 8 wins which are all by stoppage. He is now set to face Manuel Charr for the WBA ‘Regular’ title.

Joyce started his assault of heavy punches from the opening bell on Stiverne who tried to reply back with few clubbing hooks but mostly took refuge on the ropes.

Joyce pumped out his steaming punches in the second to force Stiverne to remain on guard. In the 3rd round, 40 years old Stiverne was slumped on to the canvas.

Stiverne fought courageously as he withstood punishment fro Joyce until sixth round who himself shrugged any punches from Haitian.

Haitian who was battered in the sixth round which prompted referee Howard Foster to step in to signal the victory for Joyce.
