Keys wins over Kasatkina during their 1st round match of the Pan Pacific Open

Madison Keys, the fifth seed at the Pan Pacific Open this year was able to improve her career meeting record against Daria Kasatkina by 6-0 after she defeated Russian during their 1st round match by 6-3 and 6-4.

Keys was able to convert 6 of her total 10 break points in this match.

Keys said, “I feel good because I feel a little nervous ahead of all of my matches. It is always hard for me to get out there and get all the nerves out. I started out real slow but I am still happy to have this win.”

Madison will now play the 2nd round match against Zarina Diays of Kazakhstan.

In other matches of the tournament, Hsieh Su-wei was able to win over her Spanish opponent Garbine Muguruza by 3-6, 7-6 and 6-1.

Somewhere else at the Korean Open being held In Seoul, Timea Babos, the qualifier was apple to defeat Jelena Ostapenko, the former champion of the tournament by 6-3 and 6-3.

Babos is bow going to play the 2nd round match against the third seeded player Karolina Muchova who defeated her 1st round opponent Alison van Uytvanck by 6-4, 3-6, 6-2.

In other matches of the day, Ana Brogdan was able to win over the 6th seeded Polona Hercog 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 while Anastasia Potapova made a comeback to win against Han Na-Lae 7-6 (4), 6-1.

Lastly at the Guangzhou International in China, Elina Svitolina, the top seed of the tournament was able to beat Dalila Jakupvic 6-3, 6-3.
