Khabib Nurmagomedov ahead of his fight with Dustin Poirier mocks McGregor in press conference

Khabib Nurmagomedov does not hope to see Connor McGregor any time soon in his career.

Nurmagomedov, the undefeated lightweight UFC champion with a career record of 27-0 in UFC and 11-0 MMA is now getting prepared for his career’s second title defense fight. He is going to face Dustin Poirier; the interim champion with 25-5 MMA and 17-4 UFC career record at the upcoming UFC 242 event which is going to be held on September 7th in Abu Dhabi.

Ahead of his fight, Nurmagomedov was seen at a low key press conference held in London’s Hotel café Royal where he showed no theatrics as he talked calmly about his possible chance of unifying the lightweight title.

The majority of the press conference was about both fighters preparation for the fight but after the topic of McGregor was raised in front of him, he made it clear that he has now no regard for the Irishman.

He said to the reporters, “for the past three years, he only got one victory and that too was in amateur boxing. How can he deserve a rematch with me?”

Nurmagomedov got a dominating victory over McGregor in the UFC 229 fight held at the T-Mobile Arena on last October with a fourth-round submission win.

Nurmagomedov said, “He taped, he begged me: please do not kill me, you know? Now he talks about a rematch? Tony Ferguson is on the line, and other people who have win streaks are on the line. Not a guy who has not won anything in the last 3 years. I have a lot of work to do without him. As of right now, my whole focus is on September 7th.”
