LeBron James in his debut match with Lakers ended up in a loss of 124-107 against the Denver Nuggets in the pre season match.
LeBron made his Lakers debut from the very same arena from which Magic Johnson made his debut 39 years ago for the regular season. James was able to captivate the crowd with his starting performance in the Lakers exhibition match on Sunday night.
The opening ball came to LeBron James who tapped it off to the fellow newcomer of Lakers Rajon Rondo who made an alley-oop pass towards JaVale McGee thus making the first score of the game.
James missed his first shot but then he made a no look bounce pass from 27 feet away to Bandon Ingram for a dunk shot. After minute, James also hit a long 3 pointer.
In only 15 minutes, James finished with three rebounds, four assist and nine points.
James after this loss of match said to media that, “it was great to be back on the floor and starting a new journey for myself.”
James has recently left Cleveland Cavaliers to join Lakers under a free agent deal worth of 153.3 million dollars.
When the reporters asked head coach of Lakers; Luke Walton as to what stands out about James, he said, “His intelligence. He I ale to see everything and knows everything even before the drills. He knows as to exactly where he is going. His work ethic is splendid. He’s there with the guys in both pre-practices and post-practices along with taking care of his body in weight room. ‘He is the ultimate professional’”.
The regular season opener for Lakers is going to be held on 18th October, 2018 in Portland. As for their home opener, it is going to be held two nights later against Houston Rockets.
