Jusuf Nurkic had heard enough and it was time to show them all.
Rudy Gobert blocked his shot whereas Jae Crowder got all in his face. Nurkic had enough of it all and then in the third quarter, he turned the noise up and led the Portland Trail Blazers to win over the Utah Jazz by 109-104 on Monday night.
Nurkic said, “They started talking a little bit too much but for me, I am too busy to have all those conversations”.
Portland Trail Blazers were led by Damien Lillard who scored 26 points. As for Nurkic, he scored 17 points with four blocks to give Blazers a room for a win.
Lillard taking about Nurkic said, “He was huge. They blocked a few of his cahoots but we kept giving the ball to him and he figured it out. He got his timing right got into Rudy’s body and then he started rolling.”
Nurkic fished for the night with 22 points along with 9 rebounds and 7 assists. With this win, Portland Trail Blazers snapped Utah Jazz’s six-game winning streak.
As for Utah Jazz, they were led by Donovan Mitchell who continued with his high scoring streak of 36 points while Crowder scored 15 points and Gobert added in his 10 points with 13 rebounds and four blocks.
Portland had a total of 30 assists on Monday night which makes it their 10th time in the last 12 games where they have marked at least 25 assists. They are 14-3 on the season and finish with 25 or more.
Up next, Portland Trail Blazers will play against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday while Utah Jazz will host a game against the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday.
