In the game of English Premier League held between Liverpool and West Ham, Mohamed Salah scored 1 goal and then set up another for teammate Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to make the score 2-0 as they won over their opponents on Wednesday night. With this win, Liverpool is now 19 points clear into the English Premier League to stand as the league leader.
Their game had to be postponed in December of 2019 because Liverpool had to play the Club World Cup that as held in Qatar at the time. It was a trophy that joined the European Cup from the last season in Liverpool’s trophy cabinet in Anfield.
Now is not the matter of ‘if’ but ‘when; Liverpool is going to end their 30-year long title drought at the English Premier League as only 14 ore games to go.
As for West Ham, they are only above the relegation zone due to the goal difference being better than Bournemouth.
The breakthrough for Liverpool in this game came when Salah scored the goal on a penalty during the 35th minute after Divock Origi was fouled by Issa Diop. A pinpoint pass from Salah then allowed for Oxlade-Chamberlain to move the ball into the net for the team’s 2nd goal and to have a lead over West Ham.
Jürgen Klopp, the manager for Liverpool said, “The difficulty for us tonight was to find our rhythm and then keep that rhythm and to remain concentrated. It is not normal because you do not always perform to the highest level. But t was still more than enough to win this game.”
With this win, Liverpool was now defeated all of the 19 teams in the English Premier League once in the season.
