Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks spoke in perfect Spanish and his game was also very much flawless on the Thursday night game against the Detroit Pistons.
Doncic scored a total of 41 points on his way to have his season’s 8th Triple-double while Seth Curry also helped the team with his 30 points as Dallas Mavericks beat Pistons by 122-111. This was the opening night NBA game in Mexico City.
Doncic along with his point scored 12 rebounds as well as 11 assists who are now 17-7 on the season with their best 24-game start since the 2014 season.
Dwane Casey, the coach for the Pistons said of Doncic “He picked us all apart.”
Curry added 18 points for Mavs in the 2nd quarter alone to help the team which trailed by 7 points in the 1st half.
Curry has now become the first reserve of the Dallas Mavericks to have scored 30 points coming off the bench in a game. The last one to have such a massive ark was Jason Terry to score 34 points against the Spur back in 2012 season.
Rick Carlisle, the coach of the Dallas Mavericks said, “Even when the Pistons were playing in the zone, our guys made effort to drive and kick and then find Seth for making the ultimate shot. Really happy for him. He did everything he could. He drove it. He shot it. He made a lot of good plays on his breaks. He made some nice passes. He is a great contributor for the team for having this win.”
As for the Pistons, they were led by Andre Drummond and his 23 points along with 15 rebounds while Derrick Rose scored 19 points and Markieff Morris scored 16 points. Blake Griffin and Christian Wood added I their 10 points each for the team.
Next, Dallas Mavericks will host a game against the Miami Suns while Pistons will play against the Rockets.
