Madrid defeats Sevilla by 1-0 at Spanish League game

In the Sunday night game of Spanish League between Real Madrid and Sevilla, Karim Benzema took lead of the team in the second half with his goal, the sole one of the night, to rebound from their worst performance of the Champions League against PSG.

The 61st minute header shot from Karim Benzema during eh game allowed for the Madrid to win the game by 1-0. This game was being played by the Madrid under pressure especially for their coach Zinedine Zidane following team’s gruesome 3-0 defeat against PSG in the group opener of the Champions League.

Sergio Ramos, defender of Madrid said, “We know it was going to be tough for us as we have not won here for many years now. After all this week, we can now relax a bit. When coach spoke about intensity, he talked about paying attention to the fine details and winning the individual battles. Today we showed that we were motivated for getting the win.”

In the amazing contest held at the El Pizjuan Stadium, both teams had their fans as the pressure kept on mounting with the deadlock.

Benzema’s goal is the only one that Sevilla had allowed to go past their defense in their last 6 games of the competition starting this season.
