Real Madrid was able to take charge of the title of the Spanish League leader race after they defeated Valladolid by 1-0 in a match.
Valladolid defense suffered from the constant barrage of the crosses that caused the ball to move past into their area until Toni Kroos finally connected as it went past Valladolid goalie during the 78th minute for a Real Madrid goal.
With this win, the team of Zinedine Zidane has now moved 3 points ahead of the Barcelona after Barca also their Spanish League game against Valencia by 2-0.
Zidane said, “We were aware that this would be another tough game for us. They have only lost one game at home. They are a very tough and competitive team and these were the 3 important points for us.”
Besides taking advantage of the Barca’s defeat, Madrid also saw the Atletico Madrid stumbling once more and falling back on the Leaderboard.
Atlético suffered from a 0-0 draw at their home game of Spanish League against Leganes which now extends their winless streak to 4 games in all competitions.
As for Getafe, they now move past the Atlético Madrid for 4th place in the Spanish league to get the final spot on the Champions League after they won the game against Real Betis by 1-0 playing at home. Madrid will now host a game against the Atlético Madrid next week.
