The game between Manchester United and Burnley of the Premier League ended in a 2-0 victory or the Man United as they now grab hold of the 5th place in the Premier League. Their 2 goals were scored by Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford respectively.
United was able to take advantage following a defensive error from Burnley’s Charlie Taylor to take the lead for United as Martial got a pass from Andreas Pereira to score a goal in the 44th minute of the game.
Andreas Pereira, the forward from France who had allowed the team to win their Thursday game against Newcastle with his 2 goals, has now scored 10 goals in all of the season’s competitions.
The 2nd goal for United was scored by Rashford during the stoppage time as Burnley was trying to score an equalizer.
With this game concluded, Chelsea now has the 4th place in the Premier League as well as the last spot in the qualification round of Champions League. They are now 1 point clear of Manchester United as they will play against Arsenal on Sunday.
United has managed to win 6 of their last 8 games which is a good omen for the club manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was being questioned prior to these wins.
As for the Premier League game of Watford VS Aston Villa on the same day, it ended with a 3-0 win for Watford who was bidding to pull out from their relegation threatening zone.
Troy Denney, captain for Watford scored goals during 47th and 67th minute respectively while his teammate Adrian Mariappa got a red card for 2 bookings in a mere 6 minutes time span.
Watford, applying as a 10-man team did not falter in their performance one bit as the 3rd goal was scored by Ismaila Sarr during the 70th minute.
After picking up 7 points from their last 7 games under the coaching of manager Nigel Pearson, Watford now moves within 3 points in the safety which is impressive considered to their beak situation only 1 month ago.
