McCollum has triple-double as Trail Blazers beat Hawks by 120-111

Although Portland Trial Blaze’s star guard Damien Lillard is out of the team right now, CJ McCollum reminded everyone as to how good other Portland’s guard are.

McCollum scored 28 points with 10 assists and 10 rebounds to make his first career triple-double he led the Portland Trail Blazer’s win over the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night by 120-111.

Trail Blazers coach Terry Stots said, “CJ was terrific and this was perhaps his best all-around game this season.”

As for Seth Curry, who was playing in place of Lillard scored 22 points while Maurice Harkless scored his season-high 16 points with five rebounds for the Trail Blazers.

McCollum said, “Without Lillard on the court tonight, I was just talking a little bit more. I initiated the offense and tried to keep everybody involved.”

As for the Atlanta Hawks, they were led by Trae Young who scored 30 points and 8 assists.

McCollum scored 10 points and three assists in the third quarter to give Portland a 3 points lead as the head into the fourth quarter.

Atlanta managed to make the score at 101-100 with 7 minutes remaining to the buzzer.  However, Steph Curry for Portland’s side managed to score 11 points to seal the game in Portland’s win.

Young talking about McCollum said, “CJ scores the ball. He makes great passes and goes after it on the boards. CJ does what CJ does and it’s everything.”

Blazers sixth man had to be forced out of the game during halftime with a sore left Achilles.

Up next, Atlanta Hawks will play against the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday night while Portland Trail Blazers will play against the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night.
