Miami Open; Roger Federer wins his fourth Miami Open title by defeating John Isner

Roger Federer has managed to win his 4th Miami Open title along with it being his 101st career title. He won the title after defeating his final’s opponent John Isner by 6-1 and 6-4 on Sunday.

The 37 years old Federer who earlier had a disappointing loss agsint Dominic Thiem at the Indian Wells made up for that by his final’s match at the Hard Rock Stadium. With this win, Federer has become the first repeat champion for the 20 ATP tournaments this year.

John Isner, the defending champion had a hard time at the final as he struggled with his left foot pain during the second set.

Federer was playing at the 50th Masters 1000 Final in which he broke Isner 3 times during their opening set in which Federer only lost 3 points on his serve.

Federer talking in the post game interview said, “it was a dream start for me. It is so great and I am so happy right now. It has been an amazing week for me. I am just so happy right now. It is simply unbelievable, I played here for the first time back in 1999 and now I am back here in 2019. All of this means a lot to me.”

Federer who has currently won 20 Grand Slam tournaments, only now needs to win 8 more titles on his way to beat Jimmy Connors’ all time record for winning 109 men’s career tiles.
