Michael Hunter gains the dominant decision win against Sergiy Kuzmin

In the much anticipated fight of the heavyweight world title between Michael Hunter and Sergiy Kuzmin held in New York at the Madison Square garden ended in a spectacular win for Hunter.

The 31 years old Hunter, who is a former cruiserweight, was two and half stone light than his Russian opponent and proved that his weight made all the difference as he bounced all around the ring to beat Kuzmin in the entire 12 round fight.

Scores of 117-110 form 3 judges saw Hunter thanking the WBA Inter-Continental heavyweight title belt form Russian. With this win, Hunter is now at the edge of getting a major fight for the prized division of boxing sport.

Michael The Bounty Hunter was able to work fast behind his jab in the opening round as he landed some great straight punches to have the control of the fight while keeping Kuzmin on the edge who was having trouble to keep up with his counterpart.

3rd round saw Russian getting some momentum and push himself to land in some strong shots but it could not deter the young Hunter as Hunter responded with his own sharp counters in the next round to again gain the control.

In the 5th, Russian was downed for the first time after taking a crisp left punch but was back on his feet only to wobble around the ring.

Despite suffering from occasional heavy hits, Hunter was still able to maintain control as he made spectacular combinations to increase his chance at the victory.

The unbeaten Kuzmin tired to make a rally in the final minutes to take the decision to scorecards but all of it was for the naught.

Earlier on the same night, the fight between Daniyar Yeleussinov and Reshard Hicks ended with a great win for the The Kazakh thunder as he improved his record to 8-0.
