Mohammed Shami, the Indian seamer has managed to be at the top 7 of the ICC’s bowling ranking for Test Cricket after he took 7 wickets during the Test match against Bangladesh.
The 29 years old bowler, Mohammed Shami was able to get 3 wickets by giving away only 27 runs and then 4 wickets off of 31 runs as India defeated the Bangladeshi team on 150 runs for the chase target of 213 at the First of their two-match Test series; winning the first one by innings and 130 runs. The match was played between India and the Bangladeshi team at the Indore’s Holkar Stadium.
Mohammed Shami managed to reach the no. 7 spot by rising 8 spots from his previous ranking with a rating of 790. This is the highest rating from any Indian seamer in Test Cricket ever. The only others to have made it close were Kapil Dev and the current Indian bowler Jasprit Bumrah.
As from the Australian team, it was Pat Cummins who is topping the rankings for bowling while the Stuart Broad of England takes more wickets in test matches than Mohammed Shami. Despite these rankings, Mohammed Shami’s average is 15.22 which is better amongst these three bowlers.
As for teammate of Mohammed Shami; Mayank Agarwal, he has managed to be the 11th in the ICC’s Test rankings for batting after he scored 243 runs against Bangladesh. In the last 8 test matches, Mayank Agarwal has managed to score 858 runs, which is an average of 71.50 runs including his 3 centuries as well as 6 fifties.
