The past few days have been very significant for the climber Molly Thompson Smith who was once more scaling the walls despite receiving from her surgery for the ruptured finger that she suffered back in July.
During this year’s world championships, Molly did not revealed any signs of progress negativity from her recent surgery. The world championship was held in Innsbruck, where she battled through the opening rounds and only missed by one point for the finals.
She told media that, “it had been a pleasure for me to climb in the semi finals in this year’s first competition. I was having fun while climbing and did not felt any pain while doing it. This was something that I had not imagined for quite some time now”. She further said, “This had been a great reintroduction into the competitions and I am pretty excited what will happen after full winter training along with my healthy fingers.
Joe Fraser; the gymnast secured a trophy for the team at the London Open after securing the silver for the team at the last European Championships.
This event has acted as a trial for the 19 years old who is going to compete in the October World Championships that going to be held in Qatar.
On the Sunday competition he was placed first on the Parallel bars, third on the Rings, third on the vault and fifth on the High Bar.
Fraser told media, “It was so much fun. Getting back to gym after the European Championships was such a hard thing to do. However this competition has helped me get even more motivated to push myself further to see what I can really achieve.”
Sprinter Imani Lansiquot managed to perform splendidly for Europe in the IAAF Championship. For 20 years old it was a lively show but she only managed to finish 2nd in the 400 meter sprint.
Talking to media, she said, “We were representing he whole continent. I am really glad to have mad points for my team. I ran a solid leg and now I am done for the year. This was my first Continental Cup and it had been a blast of joy.”
