Naomi Osaka agrees to a deal with Nike

Naomi Osaka, the world no. 1 women’s tennis player has agreed recently to a deal with Nike. The news was announced by the sports apparel giant last week.

Osaka, the 2-time Grand Slam champion who had previously been in ties with Nike’s longtime rival brand Adidas, is going to wear her first Nike gear later this month at the upcoming Stuttgart Grand Prix.

Osaka said, “I am very proud to be a part of the Nike family and also I am very happy for the future opportunities that Nike will have to offer me. Nike has a tremendous record of writing the history and I myself am looking forward to being a part of those moments that will last for many years to come.”

Osaka is the only Japanese female tennis player who has overcome the four majors after she faced off against Serena Williams during their US Open final match in September of 2018. She followed the same greatness in her match against Petra Kvitova during their Australian Open final match earlier this year.

Amy Montagne told media, “Naomi is one of the most incredible talents that we are proud to add to our roster which will continue to give us a commitment for inspiring the younger generation of female athletes. We are extremely thrilled o have her join our team.”

The ascent of Osaka in tennis hand especially in the women sports has made her somewhat of a hot commodity amongst the top brands in the world.
