Naomi Osaka who earlier last week won the Australian Open admitted to the fact that she is also thinking about the possibility of a “Naomi Slam”.
21 years old Naomi Osaka added to her US Open triumph by beating Petra Kvitova in a splendid final of the Australian Open.
With this victory, Naomi Osaka has also become the world no. 1 ranking player of the women tennis. She has finally achieved this mark by two years of unpredictability.
She is also planning to follow the footsteps of her idol Serena Williams to hold the all four Slam titles at the same time.
When asked about it, she said with a chuckle, “You guys know the French Open is next right? I love that clay court. I am not going to lie and say that the thought has not crossed my mind but I don’t know. I have to take this one tournament at a time. Especially with the Indiana Wells coming up soon which I also won last year, so I feel in need to think about it.”
As she was lifting the Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup, Osaka was fulfilling her prediction of fulfilling this dream of hers during the tournament.
