Andy Murray’s splendid comeback from his career-ending hip injury was halted at the Eastbourne double’s competition after he suffered a first-round defeat along with his partner Marcelo Melo.
Murray was able to take a huge step towards his recovery after he was able to win the Fever-Tree Championships at Queen’s Club alongside his partner Feliciano Lopez last Sunday after going through the fear of career end due to his hip injury.
However, his warm-up for the Wimbledon’s double’s completion took a sudden halt on Tuesday after he and Melo got defeated by the top-seeded doubles team of the competition, Robert Farah and Juan Sebastian Cabal by 6-2 and 6-4.
Murray, the 2-time Wimbledon champion had earlier joked on media that he would do a bungee jump if he continued to win his matches but unluckily his wish did not come true.
Farah and Cabal were able to take revenge on Murray for their first-round exit at Queen’s Club against Murray and Feliciano last week. Up next the Colombian duo will now face the team of Lloyd Glasspool and Dan Evans for the second round.
As for Murray, he will next be partnering up with France’s Pierre-Hugues Herbert for the men’s doubles competition of the upcoming Wimbledon that is starting on Monday of next week.
