Nelly Korda wins the first LET title at Lacoste Ladies Open de France

Nelly Korda was able to win her first title for the Ladies European Tour title as she made a four-under 67 for winning the Lacoste Ladies Open de France.

The US star of the Solheim Cup who ahs previously won the 2 titles of the LPGA Toru along with the one winning at the Symetra Tour, she had a lead of one-shot as she was moving to the final. However, she was able to gain the victory by 8 shots following her 6 birdies along with 2 bogeys on the final day of the golf course of the Golf du Medoc located near Bordeaux.

While Korda finished 1st, the 2nd place went to Celine Boutier of France who was ahead of her teammate from Solheim Cup and the winner of the event last year, Caroline Hedwall while Jonna Klatten finished at 5th place.

21 years old Korda said of her victory, “conditions today were really tough but I was able to keep my head down and stay leveled in the game as I made as many birdies as I could. I was very consistent in my efforts and was able to hit a lot of the fairways and the greens. I gave myself a lot of opportunities because my putting was really good today. I played very well as compared to last week. Unfortunately, we did not get the win that time but we have been playing solidly since them.”

As for Celine Boutier, she was able to make 3 birdies along with 3 bogeys to fifth on seven-under. She said, “Right after Solheim, I am really glad about these results. After the tough week at Solheim, I was not sure what to expect from this week both physically and mentally. Nelly played really well and it was hard to catch her especially in these conditions. This is why I am really glad about the results. I have to say that the back nine today was really tough.”
