Nets build a big lead to hold off Davis and the Pelicans to win by 126-121

The Brooklyn Nets managed to pull off a big point lead in the first half like they never did before. As I turned out that they needed this big lead form the first half because it was impossible to stop the monstrous return of the Anthony Davis of the Pelicans when he returned to the lineup.

D’Angelo Russell

D’Angelo Russell led the Nets with his 22points and 13 assists as the Nets built a big enough lead of 73 points in the first half and held off the Anthony Davis resulting in Nets win by 126-121 on Wednesday night.

Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis finished for the Pelicans with his 34 points and his season high of 26 rebounds as he was playing after one game absence. However, for Pelicans, there were not enough rebound in the first half when Nets opened with a  24 points lead in the first half whoosh was their biggest points lead at home in the past 17 years.

Russell

Russell talking about Davis’ massive return to lineup said, “Man when a team got a guy like Davis, it’s tough for us on the defensive end and on the offensive end also. You have just got to play at the time and be aggressive on all ends”.

Joe Harris of the Nets scored 21 points for the team who had 103 points by the third quarter. Nets were able to get this big lead after they made 15 of their 3-pointer shots in their highest-scoring first half at home.

Davis

Davis said that the first half for Pelicans was lazy, “the whole first half, the Nets did what they wanted. They did not even felt us on the defensive end.”

Nets

Nets who were missing their star players like Caris LeVert, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Allen Crabbe due to injuries, still managed to win their seventh game in their last 8 games at home. Seven of their players finished for the night by scoring in double digits.

Elfrid Payton

Elfrid Payton of the Pelicans who was making a comeback for the team after missing out on one month due to a broken finger, scored 25 points whereas Julius Randall scored 21 points and Jrue Holiday scored 20 points.
