Steve Bruce, being the manager for the first time of Newcastle was able to gain his first victory after the team defeated Tottenham by 1-0 in their Premier League match held on Sunday.
Bruce took over for Rafa Benitez during the offseason and was under the pressure of losing two of the early games of the season but after Newcastle’s Joelinton, who is signed to the team for 50 million dollars contract, scored a goal first to win the match and hand his team 3 points.
In this victory, Newcastle was majorly helped by their opponent, Tottenham, who was rarely able to threaten the defense of Newcastle and also undid their previous good work of the last week when they defeated Manchester City.
The best chance for Tottenham to score a goal came during the 32nd minute of the game when Kyle Walker stood a cross from Son Heung-min but his volley was saved by Newcastle goalie Martin Dubravka.
2mnd half was not much of a help for Tottenham as Newcastle remained firmly on their defense to defend the Spurs bravely and prevent them from doing any damage.
Tottenham again had a chance to take 1 point but a crossover from Moussa Sissoko was blazed off by Moura and the game ended with Tottenham not having any goal scored and losing.
