Next Gen ATP Finals; Stefanos Tsitsipas makes winning start in Milan

The top rank player at the Next Gen ATP Finals in Milan took the season ending event with a winning start on Tuesday.

Tsitsipas; the Greek star, who managed to reach in the final of Toronto Masters and also won his first ATP title in Stockholm, managed to win against his Spanish opponent Jaume Munar by 4-3, 4-3, 3-4 and 4-2 to make a winning start for the Group A.

Tsitsipas after his match said to media, “the math was very stressful from the start. Every point counts and you can get broken at any moment. There was a lot of stress and a lot of tie-breaks. For the next match, I am going to work on my serve to grab the next opportunity a little easier than I did today”.

For the Group A’s other match, Frances Tiafoe defeated the Polish No. 1 player Hubert Hurkacz by 4-1, 4-2, 2-4 and 4-3. The American player managed to win by saving Sven of his break points.

Frances said to media in a post match interview, “he was coming up with a really good shot, so I had to step it up. Luckily, I did.

In the Group B’s match, Russian player Andrey Rublev managed to defeat his opponent Taylor Fritz from America by 4-2, 1-4, 4-7, 4-3 and 4-2.

Alex de Minaur, the second seed of the event got an easy victory against Italian wild card Liam Caruana by 4-1, 4-1 and 4-2.
