Novak Djokovic speaks fluent Mandarin at the award ceremony of Shanghai Masters

Novak Djokovic has revealed to his fans that he may have been born a China man in his past life. He proved this statement by speaking fluent Mandarin after his stunning victory of the Shanghai Masters.

Djokovic was able to win his record fourth Shanghai Masters title after defeating Borna Coric in the final by 6-3 and 6-4 on Sunday.

Currently, Djokovic holds his record for 11-0 for the finals played in China. In China, he has won the Beijing tournament six times and also won the Tennis Masters Cup that was held back in 2008 in Shanghai.

Djokovic was watching Borna Coric apologizing to the crowd as he was not able to speak in their native language. He took this moment to upstage his opponent by reeling in the microphone and started talking in fluent Mandarin for his acceptance speech.

His words translated from Mandarin into English were,

“Hello everyone, I don’t want to make Coric look bad. I have been playing really well throughout my career in China. This is a very special place for me”.
