Nuggets clinch at the playoff berth after beating Celtics by 114-105

The Denver Nuggets are finally making it into the playoff season after going through a 6-year drought.

Nikola Jokic led the Denver Nuggets with his 21 points and 13 rebounds as Nuggets made a fourth-quarter rally to win over the Boston Celtics by 114-105 to clinch their playoff berth on Monday night. This is going to be the first time that Denver Nuggets are going to play in the playoff since the 2012-2013 season.

From Denver’s side, Will Barton scored 20 points as the team won their fourth game in a row. The Nuggets are currently 47-22 on the season and are tied with The Warriors for having the best record in Western Conference.

In the last season, Nuggets won 46 of the games but still could not make it into the playoffs after they lost to Wolves in overtime in the final of the regular season. With this 47th victory of the regular season, they have secured themselves a spot in the playoffs.

Michael Malone, the Denver Nuggets coach said, “it is a great feeling to finally make it into the playoffs after 6 years. Four years of just making it into the season and 2 seasons of falling one game shy. We used the motivation of those previous years to win the game tonight.”

As for Boston Celtics who are 43-28 on the season, they were led by Kyrie Irving who scored 30 points for the team while Horford finished for the night with his 20 points along with 6 rebounds and 6 assists.

Boston Celtics are 5th in the Eastern Conference ranking and are only half a game behind the fourth-place Indiana pacer while 2.5 games behind the Philadelphia. They are now going to face the 76ers on Wednesday night.

As for Denver Nuggets, they will be playing against the Washington Wizards on Thursday night.
