Nuggets overcome Jokic suspension to beat Suns by 132-95

After Nickola Jokic was given a one-game suspension from the league, the head coach of Denver Nuggets demanded two things; first was an explanation from the league and second from his team for a second shootaround.

He appreciated the first and was also satisfied by his team’s performance on Friday night against the Phoenix Suns as they won them over by 132-95.

Malone said about the NBA who apologized to him for Jokic’s suspension, “the league was great and I mean this.”

Malone after emerging from the victorious locker room said to media, “They were just busting my chops in there because we brought them back in the afternoon to walk them through plays once we knew who was in and who was out. But, whatever it takes for a win.”

Paul Millsap led the Denver Nuggets for a win in which eight Nuggets players finished in double figures as they handed Suns their seventh straight loss.

Jokic who is the leader of Nuggets in points, rebounds and assists was banished from one game by NBA due to his altercation in Utah.

Plumlee started in absence of Jokic for the Denver Nuggets and finished for the team with 16 points, 6 assists and 7 rebounds in 25 minutes play.

All five starters of Nuggets scored in double digits with reserve Malik Beasley scoring 19 points, Monte Morris scoring 17 points and Trey Lyles scoring 12 points for the team.

As for the Phoenix Suns, they were led by Devin Booker who scored 35 points. Suns were also applying without their big man DeAndre Ayton who is missing a game due to a sprained left ankle.

Up next, Phoenix Suns will visit the LOS Angeles Lakers for a game on Sunday night while Denver Nuggets will host a game against the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday night when Jokic will return to the team after his suspension.
