Oliver Ekman-Larsson, the captain of NHL team Coyotes got stitches after getting attacked by his won dog

If there is one special thing that all the fans of Coyotes are hoping for then it is a season with fewer injuries.

But as it seems to be, they are not off for a good start.

Oliver, Ekman-Larsson, the captain of the Coyotes had to be briefly hospitalized after an incident in Sweden when his family dog bit his hand and he had to get 4 stitches on it.

According to the local Swedish media, Ekman-Larsson got the stitches than was given a tetanus shot and now is currently on antibiotics.

John Chayka, the President of Hockey Operations and General Manager for the Coyotes said that Ekman-Larsson is completely healthy following his treatment which took place shortly after the World Championships ended at the end of May.

The family dog which was a German Shepherd was put down that had been with the family or the past 6 to 7 years.

As for the captain himself, he acknowledged the news in the following tweet,

“Just wanted to let everyone know that I’m fine. This happened earlier in the summer, and sadly we had to put our dog down. I got four stitches that are healing up nicely. Thanks, @sportexpressen for giving me something to do today.”
