Larry Drew, the head coach for the Cleveland Cavaliers, hoped that the previous night team meeting after their loss would put the team in a positive direction instead of the Cavaliers’ Saturday night’s ninth defeat tuned out to be the most lopsided of the season yet.
New Orleans Pelicans were led by Jrue Holiday and Julius Randal who both scored 22 points each in route for t3eam;’s win by 133-98 on Saturday.
Cleveland Cavaliers with their 9th straight loss this season are now standing in the NBA with the worst record of 8-32.
Anthony Davis of the pelicans said, “We knew that they had played earlier a night, so we got out and ran more to tire them out. We knew they were struggling in the third quarter so we went on our hard.”
Cavaliers have now lost 6 games in a row at home while losing five games by 20 or more points which is an NBA losing record.
Anthony Davis, the star of the Pelicans scored 20 points with 10 rebounds Julius Randall also added in his 12 rebounds while six of the Pelicans players finished the night by scoring double digits.
As for the Cleveland Cavaliers, they were led by Jordan Clarkson who scored 23 points for the team while rookie Collin Sexton and Jalen Jones both scored 15 points each for the team.
The main reason for the Cavs losing almost every night has been their injured players. Their All-Star forward Vin Love who has gone surgery of his left foot in November only just stared some basketball activities but his return to the game has no timetable.
Rodney Hood is out due to sore Achilles in his left foot whereas Matthew Dellavedova is out with his sprained left foot.
Up next, New Orleans Pelicans will host a game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday while Cleveland Cavaliers will host a game against the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday.
