Philadelphia Eagles 17-9 Dallas Cowboys: Eagles playoff hopes kept alive with win

The game for the NFC East played between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys ended in a 17-9 win for the Eagles. With this win, the Eagles keep the first spot in the NFC East.

This win allows for the Eagles to be now at 8-7 on the season which means that if they win the next road win against the New York Giants, they will be securing the division’s first spot and with it the berth for playoffs.

As for the Cowboys, they now feel to 7-8 o the regular season and if they hope to make it to the playoffs they need to hope for Philadelphia Eagles to lose in their next week’s game.

Carson Wentz, the QB for the Philadelphia Eagles threw 40 passes of which he completed 31 passes for 319 passing yards along with 1 TD. He started soon in the game as he found his teammate JJ Arcega, the rookie player for 2 big catches of the game on the opening drive for Eagles and then allowed for Jake Elliot to throw a field goal for 36 yards.

After Cowboys were forced three and out, Philadelphia Eagles extended the lead after Wentz fired a high pass near the end zone only 6 yards out.

For cowboys, the 3rd quarter was riddled with mistakes as their rookie player Tony Pollard fumbled in the territory of Philadelphia Eagles following a punch form Fletcher Cox and the ball was recovered by Malcolm Jenkins.

Wentz and his team were able to take the advantage near the end o the 3rd quarter as Greg Ward broke and ran for 38-yard before Miles Sanders broke through for a 1-yard TD to take the lead of Philadelphia Eagles to 17-6.

Sanders then also helped the Eagles seal the win after he raced on the open field on the third down with only 1 minute to the game.
