Premier League: Arsenal wins over Newcastle by 2-0

While going away from Arsenal, Aaron Ramsey’s parting gift to the team might allow them to be back in the Champions League.

On the Monday night soccer match between Arsenal and Newcastle, Aaron Ramsey scored a goal in the 30th minute of the game to allow Arsenal to win over its opponent by 2-0. With this win, Arsenal is now above both Manchester and Tottenham at the third place of the Premier League.

As for the 2ne goal of the Arsenal, Alexander Lacazette scored it in the 83rd minute of the game at the Emirates Stadium. With this win, Arsenal has now won 10 games in a row at the home league matches in a single season. This has happened for the first time since May of 1998.

Ramsey is going to leave Arsenal after 11 years to join Juventus as a free transfer in the coming July. Although he is important to the team, he was still given the armband to lead the team against Newcastle as the regular captain of the team, Laurent Koscielny, was absent due to his injury.

Ramsey got his chance at the ball after Lacazette was dispossessed inside the arena. The ball was loose to which Ramsey got to hold off and send in the first goal of the night in between the legs of Paul Dummett, 15 meters away from the post.

Emery talking about Ramsey said, “I think Ramsey is happy. He is helping the team and is playing with his best performance.”

The second goal, which was made by Lacazette, happened when he ran a header by the Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and then lobbed the ball over Newcastle goalkeeper, Martin Dubravka.

Lacazette said, “I am feeling the difference in the air from the last season. Now we have a good shot at going back into the Champions League.”

Arsenal was last ahead of Tottenham back on December 2nd, 2018.
