A splendid backing performance from Colin Ingram who was 127 runs not out, helped his team Karachi Kings for an easy six-wicket win over the Quetta Gladiators in the match 15th of the PSL4 played at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
Quetta Gladiators set a victory target of 187 runs for the Karachi Kings to chase. Coming off on the batting pitch, Kings were down by 4 for 2 and then Colin Ingram came to stun the Quetta Gladiators’ bowlers. He took his team to a victory with six-wicket and 8 balls to spare. Ingram, who scored 127 runs off of his 59 balls, knocked 16 boundaries along with 8 sixes. With his 127 runs, Ingram has surpassed Sharjeel Yusuf’s 117 runs for the highest scoring player in the PSL history.
On Gladiators side, Umar Akmal led the team with his 55 runs off his 37 balls. His performance was supported by Rilee Rossouw and two other batsmen of Gladiators to add 63 runs for the third wicket in their 6.5 overs play time.
Umar’s wicket finally fell at the hands of Aamer Yamin on the third ball of the 19th over when the score for Gladiators stood at 156 runs. Gladiators managed to take the score up to 186 runs with some late hitting from Anwar Ali.
On Karachi Kings’ side, no other batsmen rather than Ingram scored more than 20 runs. Ingram came to crease in the second over of the Kings batting inning. Ingram’s first 190 balls only earned him 9 runs but h scored 41 runs in his next 21 balls faced. Nawaz also scored three consecutive sixes while one was knocked by Mudassar. With only 9 balls needed off of 9 balls, Ingram on Anwar’ delivery scored a four and then a six to take Kings for an impossible victory.
