The match played between Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans earlier on Sunday night was won by Multan Sultans by 7 wickets. The match was played at the National Cricket Stadium in Karachi.
Lahore Qalandars who were playing first on Monday set a target chase of 141 runs for the Multan Sultans who sent Shoaib Malik to open or them in batting front.
Top bowling performance, particularly from Shahid Afridi and Mohammed Abbas, kept the Qalandars well blew at 140-8 in the allotted 20 overs. The main run-getters from Qalandars’ side were Fakhar Zaman with his 53 runs while David Wiese scored 30 runs.
From Multan Sultans’ side, Shan Masood replied to Qalandars’ batsmen by scoring 48 runs while Johnson Charles scored 41 runs as they completed the target chase of 141 runs in mere 12.3 overs.
Shoaib Malik post-match said, “To be honest, this was a day game and fresh wicket. The gem that I have played here for the second innings became a lot easier. Only then will you have a clear picture in front of you.”
Fakhar Zaman said, “It was good for us to lose the toss because we also wanted to bat first. The pitch here is excellent.”
Man of the match award went into hands of Muhammad Abbas.
