On Friday night, the final eliminator round of the PSL-4 concluded between Islamabad United and the Peshawar Zalmi. Peshawar Zalmi got an absolute win over the Islamabad United in a match that was played at the National Cricket Stadium in Karachi.
Peshawar Zalmi took the batting order first by setting a target of 215 runs for Islamabad United to chase. The opening partnership of 135 runs gave the Zalmi’s a cushion to make a favorable start. The middle batting order of theirs again milked on that already sweetened innings. Kamran Akmal became the top scorer from Zalmi’s side.
As for Islamabad United, this PSL turned out to be an unfortunate one as 9 of their wickets fell within the allotted 20 overs to score mere 166 runs.
From Zalmi’s side, Hassan Ali and CJ Jordan were the top wicket takers.
Earlier, Islamabad United won the toss and decided to field first against Zalmi players.
With this final eliminator concluding, Peshawar Zalmi will now face the Quetta Gladiators for the final on Sunday, March 17th at the National Cricket Stadium in Karachi.
It is to be mentioned here that Peshawar Zalmi had already faced defeat against the Quetta Gladiators in the qualifier match. Before that Islamabad United made it into the final eliminator round after defeating Karachi Kings.
