Putintseva wins her first title at Nuremberg while Yastremska wins her clay title in Strasbourg

The top-seeded Kazakh player Yulia Putintseva was able to beat the Slovenian Tamara Zidansek by 4-6, 6-4 and 6-2 at the final of Nuremberg Cup held on Saturday. With this she who has won her first title of the WTA singles.

The 39ty ranked Putintseva was able to save the second match point to win the clay court tournament.

Putintseva, the Mexico bro player, who is also the quarterfinalist of the French Open two times, earlier lost the finals at Guangzhou in 2018 and the finals of St. Petersburg back in 2017.

As for the world rank no. 68th Zidansek, she was playing her first final of the season.

Elsewhere, Dayana Yastremska, the teenager from Ukraine was able to win over Caroline Garcia by 6-4, 5-7 and 7-6 on Saturday to win the Internationaux de Strasbourg which was the longest final of the WTA season this year.

Yastremska lost two match points in the 2nd set but managed to save the third in the third set to win the match after 2 hours and 58 minutes.

For the 19 years old Yastremska, this was her 3rd title in the last 8 months who earlier won the titles at Hong Kong and Thailand. As for this title, this is her first clay-court title win.

Yastremska is also in the main draw of the French Open where she will open up against the 28th seeded player Carla Suarez Navarro.

As for Yastrzemski’s opponent, Garcia, she is also to contest in the first round of French Open against Mona Barthel.
