Randle scores 22 points as Pelicans beat Suns by 130-116

Whatever did the New Orleans Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry said to William Randall, it worked like a charm.

Randal was able to lead the Pelicans with his 22 points, 18 of which were scored in the second half as Pelicans won over the Phoenix Suns by 130-116 on Friday night.

Gentry after the win said with a laugh, “I encouraged Randall in a different way. We have to rely on our ball movement and people movement. This is when we are at our best.”

Jrue Holiday scored 21 points while E’Twaun Moore scored 20 points for the Pelicans.  As for Anthony Davis Jr., he scored 17 points with 8 rebounds during his team restricted play time of 21 minutes. With this win, Pelicans have ended their two-game skid as of lately.

As for Phoenix Suns, they were led by Devin Booker, who scored 26 points while Kelly Oubre Jr. scored 19 points and DeAndre Ayton scored 16 points. With this loss, Suns have lost again the first game after recently ending their 17-game losing streak.

Randall said, “We just came out with a lack of focus and lack of energy at the start of the game. It just was not good for us. We tried to push back in the second half and we played like we know how to.”

Up next, New Orleans Pelicans will play against the Denver Nuggets on Saturday night while Phoenix Suns will host a game against the LA Lakers on Saturday night.
