Richard Riakporhe, before he was a cruiserweight contender, he suffered a knife attack

Richard Riakporhe told media reporters that before he became on the hottest contenders for Britain’s Cruiserweight title, he had to overcome the trauma of being stabbed by a knife.

Richard Riakporhe was not just another stabbed knife victim as the life was slipping away from him. The Londoner did not end up succumbing to his stab wounds or was no longer in street scuffles but instead he is now battling for a title belt on the card of Dillian Whyte VS Oscar Rivas that will be held on Saturday night.

29 years old fighter said, “When I talk to people about it, they do not believe it as I made it all the way here. I virtually came back from death to change my whole life around. I graduated from a university, turned pro and after that I was just successful. I archived that much to be at this stage.”

Richard Riakporhe now also gives tours to schools in Britain where he tells students as to how he turned his life around from a treacherous one to be a graduate of the Kingston University and to the time when his boxing talent was recognized by Dillian Whyte, the world-ranked heavyweight boxer.

After getting successive wins, Richard Riakporhe was pit against Whyte as his sparring partner who noticed his strength and guided his career to this domestic division fight.

He said, “I just feel like that my will, my determination and my heart is second to none. That is alone enough to beat most of the fighters. It is hard to beat a man that does not back down.”

If Richard Riakporhe wins his upcoming match, he would be one step closer to fighting against the current Commonwealth and Britain champion Lawrence Okolie.

Richard Riakporhe is still not that much cocky about his own performance and knows that there are still remains some edges in his performance.
