Ritson VS Benitez: Lewis Ritson beats German Benitez on points to win his first super lightweight title

The Saturday night fight of boxing between Lewis Ritson and German Benitez ended with a win for Ritson on points for the super lightweight title at the Copper Box Arena.

Ritson, whose previous attempt at the European lightweight titled ended with a defeat on points, managed to win the WBA Inter-Continental title on scores of 99-91, 98-92 and 98-92.

Ritson started the fight on front foot as he delivered a ramrod jab followed by some hurting body shots. The Argentinean then responded in the 2nd round with his crisp counters.

The 3rd round saw Ritson catching his opponent with a big right punch as he blasted his gum shield out of his mouth and started targeting the body. Still Benitez managed to deliver a nice counter shot before the bell sounded.

Ritson started the 4th round with increased sped as he flung out some stiff jabs and started attacking the body. As for Benitez he took n those shots and responded with his own solid right punches.

Both fighters traded blows in the 6th and 7th with Benitez slowly pushing Ritson as well as hurting him with boy shots by the time 8th round ended.

Benitez continued his assault in the 9th round at the tired Ritson but his efforts were to no avail in the end.
