The position of Vincenzo Montella as the coach of Fiorentina is now even more precautious after his team lost to Roma by 4-1 on Friday night in Serie A match.
Montella received some reprieve in the game’s stoppage time after the team had secured the 1-1 draw against Inter Milan in Serie A match. However heading into the winter season, his team has now lost 5 matches of Serie A.
With this loss, Fiorentina’s position in Serie A is still at 14tgh spot which is 4 points beneath the relegation zone.
As for Roma, they have firmed up their spot in the Serie A ranking at 4th rank and now they move one point back to Lazio which is now going to have the Serie A match on Sunday against Juventus.
Fiorentina started the game brilliantly but were quickly undone by their rival following their 2 goals. Roma opened up the scoreboard with 19th-minute goal from Nicolò Zaniolo on a pass from Lorenzo Pellegrini. The lead was then doubled only 2 minutes after the first goal following a free-kick from Aleksandar Kolarov.
The only goal made by Fiorentina came during the 34th minute following a pass from Martin Caceres to Milan Badelj who moved it to the net from close range.
However, then Pellegrini scored the third goal for Roma in the 73rd to seal results of the match but the night was still young so was their new player Dušan Vlahović who scored the goal during stoppage time.
As for the match of the Spanish League between Eibar and Granada, Eibar won over their rivals by 3-0 to end their winless streak at the league this Friday night.
This win now allows for Eibar to be 5 points above that of the relegation zone at 16th place.
Sergi Enrich and Kike García scored the first 2 goals for the team with only a difference of 5 minutes apart during 1st half. As for the 3rd goal it was scored by their Japanese player Takashi Inui during final minutes.
