Ronaldo remains optimistic despite leg injury in Portugal draw

Cristiano Ronaldo was forced to retire from Portugal’s game on Monday night after he suffered a leg injury against Serbia. The game was being played for the qualifying of the 2020 European Championship.

Ronaldo while sprinting on the field tried to get a long pass but had to limp off at the Stadium of Light located in Lisbon.

Although the doctors of the team said, that he will undergo tests, the star forward says that is not too worried about the injury.

In his interview with Portuguese media, Ronaldo said, “I am not worried as I know my body well. I should be back healthy and ready to play in 1 to 2 weeks.”

24 years old Cristiano Ronaldo after his injury sat on the sideline and removed his captain’s armband before team doctors arrived to treat him. The early diagnosis revealed it to be a hamstring injury.

Ronaldo had also been treated for a nose bleed before the match. After this injury, he was replaced by Pizzi Fernandes as the forward walked on his won to the bench. He remained on the bench throughout the game and cheered for his teammates.

Since the World Cup, Ronaldo was playing in the national team for the second time.
