OKC Thunder got a performance from Russell Westbrook on Thursday night of which they were familiar. On the other hand, their opponents Memphis Grizzlies were having a hard time playing without Marc Gasol.
Westbrook had his eighth consecutive triple-double in the Thursday night game between OKC Thunder vs. Memphis Grizzlies as they won over the Grizzlies by 117-95.
Westbrook finished for the night with 15 points, 15 assists, and 13 rebounds. This is his now the longest triple-double streak of his career. He is also only one triple-double short of tying with Wilt Chamberlain’s NBA record of nine straight that he set back in 1968.
As for the Grizzlies, they are still reeling from the fact that Marc Gasol has been traded off to Toronto Raptors for three players. Grizzlies, on Thursday also announced the news that they traded off JaMychal Green and Garrett Temple to the Los Angeles Clippers for Avery Bradley and also traded Shelvin Mack to Atlanta for Tyler Dorsey.
The loss of not having Gasol with them now hit Grizzlies hard as Gasol played for his entire 11 season career with Grizzlies.
Paul George took the lead of the OKC Thunder with his 27 points while Jerami Grant added in his 20 points for the team who has won 9 of their last 10 games.
As for Grizzlies, they were led by Jaren Jackson Jr. who scored 27 points while Bruno Caboclo added 16 points and Conley added 15 points and 7 assists for the team.
Up next, Grizzlies will host a game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday while OKC Thunder will play against the Houston Rockets on Saturday.
