Russia might miss its participation in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics following doping allegations

Russian might be missing its chance of participating in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games next year following the latest allegations against them on doping.  World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) has given Russia 3 weeks for explaining about the data allegedly used for tampering eh data in their laboratories for doping tests.

Computer files, which were retrieved in this case, were crucial in prosecuting Russia for the athletes who had cheated in the Olympics of 2014 as well as other events. The possible explanation for the WADA might be heard at the executive committee meeting that is to be held next Monday in Tokyo.

The data was given to WADA following a breach of the previous deadline by Russia which was to be 31st December 2018. The data was previously held at the sealed-off area that is under the direct control of the law enforcement of Russia.

As for the latest doping allegations, ahs caused Russia to be banned for participating in this year’s World Athletics Championships and this is the 2nd time this has happened.

The decision was confirmed by the IAFF only 4 days prior to the start of the event in Qatar.

The head of the IAAF Task Force, Rune Andersen said, “We are aware of the allegations of manipulation of the data and that an investigation is ongoing. n the light of that, TF recommended that RUSAF not be reinstated and the IAAF council unanimously agreed.”

Russia had already been punished by the International Olympic Committee for doping offenses Last year when they could only send a little squad of the Olympic level athletes from Russo at the Winter Olympics.

head of the UK Anti-Doping Agency, Nicole Sapstead said on the renews elopements against Russia, “Clearly it’s incredibly concerning and incredibly disappointing,” Sapstead said. “This is data that should have been made available right from the off, it wasn’t. A number of obstacles were placed to avoid that data being obtained. And then when it’s finally obtained and you’re rooting through it and assessing it and assimilating it, you suddenly find that it all doesn’t quite tally.”
