Russian GP; Alexander Albon secures the win at F2 Feature Race

Alexander Albon managed to take home his fourth win for the season after winning the DAMS one-two in the F2 Feature Race held at Russian GP.

When the other drivers and teams made multiple mistakes, the London born; Thai diver flawlessly made his way to victory.

In the overall championship fights, Albon is way above Lando Norris who is currently in very precarious situation after this race. As for George Russell he managed to gain a lead by gaining 30 points.

Norris started from the front row but unfortunately slipped back to fifth in the opening lap after unnecessary wheel spin. As the race unfolded further, he slipped back even farther.

When the McLaren driver made his mandatory pit stop, he stopped at the wrong pit stop and when he did made it to his designated pit stop at Carlin, he left in hurry without the front right being fitted perfectly.

Norris before retiring from the race said over the radio, “Sorry guys, My mistake”.

Nyck de Vries; the fellow McLaren junior also had a slow pit stop that resulted in him losing he victory of the race. Young Dutch driver settled for the third place behind Albon and Nicholas Latifi.

As for Artem Markelov, he put quite a show for his home town fans as he charged from 19th place of the grid to gain a lead in the seventh lap. Unfortunately he also suffered from pit stop problems. Russian’s pit to car radio malfunctioned and when he made his stop, his team wasn’t prepared which resulted in long delay and him roping out in points.

George Russell; the championship leader was able to drive a more controlled race as he secured the fourth place with solid points.
