Despite playing without Kevin Love, Cleveland Cavaliers managed to squeak by in their Monday night game against the Detroit Pistons.
As for Pistons, who were playing with Blake Griffin, they were not so lucky as the Cavs.
Collin Sexton led the Cavs with his 27 points which also includes his go-ahead three-pointer shot with only two minutes to the clock to let the Cavs win over the Pistons by 126-119. In this game, Cavs and Pistons tied for nearly six times and had 5 lead changes during the 4th quarter.
Dewayne Casey, the Detroit coach, was not happy about the way his team played especially against the Cavs who shot nearly 58 percent in this game.
He said, “I am not only disappointed in myself but also the team and everyone in our locker room. Tonight our defensive disposition was absolutely nil, Nil.”
Currently, Pistons are 36-34 on the season and are the 6th in the Eastern Conference rankings. They are 1 game ahead of the Brooklyn Nets while 2.5 games ahead of Miami Heat.
Cavs were applying without Kevin love who was out due to a sore back after he took a hard fall in Cavs’ Saturday night loss against Dallas Mavericks.
Griffin was also out from Pistons side but Andre Drummond did make up for his absence as he scored 21 points with 21 rebounds. Still he could not make a difference to cause the win of Pistons which greatly disappointed him.
Drummond said, “We tip-toed around the whole game. They simply went out and took advantage of it.”
7 of the Cavaliers’ players scored in double digits with Osman scoring 21 points while Nik Stauskas scoring 17 points, 15 of which were scored by him in the 4th quarter.
Up next, Pistons will play against the Phoenix Suns on Thursday night while Cavs will host a game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night.
